MANILA – Ronnie Alcano and Warren Kiamco scored wins to advance to the next round of the US Open 9-Ball Championship at the Chesapeake Convention Center in Chesapeake, Virginia.

According to AZBilliards.com, Alcano won over Hisataka Kamihashi, 11-3, while Kiamco overwhelmed James Kelly, 11-2.

Alcano will next face Tomoo Takano, who beat Brendan Crockett, 11-5. Kiamco will play against James Roberts, who defeated Chris Bruner, 11-6.

Jose “Amang” Parica, meantime, got a bye into the second round where he will face Tony Chohan, the winner over Carsten Due, 11-2.

Meanwhile, other Filipinos entered in the event are set to face their first round foes at the Chesapeake Convention Center.

Ramil Gallego will play against Niels Feijen, Marlon Manalo will face off with CJ Wiley, and Roberto Gomez is slated for a match-up against John Newton.

The winner of the Gomez-Newton match will challenge Oscar Dominguez, who got a bye into the second.

The US Open 9-Ball Championships kicked off on October 18 and will run until October 24.
