MANILA - Two accounting graduates from De La Salle University-Lipa and Bicol University in Legazpi City topped the certified public accountant (CPA) licensure examinations given by the Professional Regulation Commission Board of Accountancy this October.

Romelyn Manset Carpio of De La Salle University-Lipa and Ivan Rhett Villacampa Macabeo topped the CPA licensure exams with a score of 91.71 percent.

The PRC said a total of 2,888 out of 6,929 exam-takers passed the CPA board.

The PRC said registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will start on Monday, October 26, but not later than November 13, 2009.

Those who will register are required to bring the following:

1. Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
2. Current Community Tax Certificate (cedula)
3. 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete nametag)
4. 2 pieces 1"x1" picture (colored with white background and complete nametag)
5. 2 sets of metered documentary stamps
6. 1 short brown envelope with name and profession.

Registrants will pay the initial registration fee of P600 and annual registration fee of P450 for 2009-2012. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the roster of registered professionals.

The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees will be held on November 18, 2009, 1 p.m. at the plenary hall of the Philippine International Convention Center, Roxas Boulevard, Manila.

Registration for membership with the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants Inc. will start on Monday, October 26, 2009.
