–- UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida successfully defended his title after going the distance against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in UFC 104.

Machida won over Rua via unanimous decision after 5 rounds Saturday (Sunday in Manila) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, UFC.com reported.

“The Dragon” remains unbeaten at 16-0 while Rua falls to 18-4.

Meanwhile, in the co-feature, Cain Velasquez defeated “Big” Ben Rothwell by technical knockout at 0:58 in the 2nd round.

Gleison Tibau beat Josh “The Dentist” via unanimous decision after 3 rounds while Joe “Daddy” Stevenson triumphed over Spencer “The King” Fisher by submission (Other) at 4:03 in the 2nd round by strikes.

Anthony “Rumble” Johnson, meantime, will took out Yoshiyuki “Zenko” Yoshida at 0:21 in the 1st round by technical knockout.

Other results of UFC 104: Machida vs. Shogun include Ryan Bader’s unanimous decision win over Eric Schafer, Pat Barry’s TKO victory at 2:30 in the 2nd round over Antoni Hardonk, and Chael Sonnen’s unanimous decision win over Yushin Okami.

Jorge Rivera scored a TKO triumph over Rob Kimmons at 1:53 in the 3rd round while Kyle Kingsbury prevailed over Razak Al-Hassan by split decision. Stefan Struve, meantime, defeated Chase Gormley by submission (choke) at 4:04 in the 1st round by triangle.
