MANILA – Ramil Gallego continued his winning streak at the Winner’s Side 1 of the US Open 9-Ball Championship at the Chesapeake Convention Center in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Gallego overwhelmed Ambrosio Almoite, 11-5. He will face Jeremy Sossei in the next round, noted AZBilliards.com.
Jose Parica and Marlon Manalo also remained in contention in the Winner's Side 3.
Parica edged Ricky Yang, 11-10, and will play against Shane Van Boening.
Manalo, meantime, will face Demetrius Jelatis after the Filipino cue artist beat Michael Badsteubner, 11-5.
Roberto Gomez also continued his run in the Winner's Side 4 as he defeated Joey Korsiak, 11-8. He is slated to compete with Kim Davenport.
Warren Kiamco, however, lost his match in the Winner's Side 2. Scott Higgins clinched an 11-10 win over Kiamco.
Meanwhile, in the One Loss Side 3 bracket, Ronnie Alcano has scored wins over Robert Pole, 11-5, and Frankie Hernandez, 11-4.
Alcano, who was defeated by Tomoo Takano, 6-11, in the Winner’s Side, will next face Yang.
