-- The Philippine Patriots rode on their hot shooting in the first half to repeat over Indonesia’s Satria Muda, 74-56, in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) Saturday at The Arena in San Juan City.

The Patriots opened up with a 9-0 blast then used several scoring spurts in the second quarter to finally put the game away and secure their fourth straight win, a victory that earned them a share of the lead with the Singapore Slingers (5-1).

Satria Muda played minus import Nakiea Miller, who failed to join the team due to lack of travel document. The Indons dropped to 3-4.

Import Jason Dixon led the Patriots’ hot start making all of his first five attempts from the field while Jerwin Gaco and Elmer Espiritu terrorized the shaded the lane to contribute six points apiece in the first 20 minutes of play.

Dixon finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks aside from helping Brandon Powell in limiting the usually explosive Alex Hartman to just 10 points.

All 12 players used by Alas scored two points or more.

The hosts even led by 28 points, 54-26, courtesy of back-to-back three-pointers by Rob Wainwright and Val Acuña midway in the third period.

The Patriots will next face the Thailand Tigers on Dec. 1 at the Ynares Sports Arena before colliding with the Indons for the third time on Dec. 5.
