-- Filipinos Lee Van Corteza and Antonio Lining took a step closer to clinching the World Ten Ball Championship title as they barged into the semifinal round Sunday.

Lining edged compatriot Warren Kiamco, 9-8, to set up a clash against Finland’s Mika Immonen in the semifinals.

Immonen defeated Russian Ruslan Chinanhov, 9-8, in the quarterfinals.

Corteza, meantime, will face Spanish David Alcaide after getting past Chinese Li Hewen, 9-7.

The Spaniard reached the semifinals by beating Briton Darren Appleton, 9-8.

The race-to-9 semifinals and race-to-11 final will take place at the World Trade Center in Pasay City on Monday.

The cue artists are aiming to bag the top prize worth $60,000.
