-- “People’s Champ” Manny Pacquiao has been tight-lipped on how he thinks his “Firepower” bout against Miguel Cotto will turn out.

“Mahirap magsabi nang tapos eh. Di naman natin alam anong mangyayari. Dasal lang tayo sa Lord,” Pacquiao earlier told abs-cbnNEWS.com.

But his excitement for the fight seems to have prompted him to say something about his chances of beating the Puerto Rican WBO welterweight champion.

“I am so excited because I think I am very much ready and prepared for the fight against Miguel Cotto on November 14 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas,” Pacquiao said in his Nov. 1 “Kumbinasyon” column on PhilBoxing.com.

He detailed that his sparring rounds will be lessened as his fight is just 2 weeks away. His team will then intensify the level of his mental preparation for the bout.

He said he and members of Team Pacquiao think they have geared for almost all the possible things that Cotto can do on fight night.

Pacquiao continued: “I feel very good. Training camp has been perfect so far and my trainer Freddie Roach and I think we have a great chance of beating the welterweight champion of the world. Let’s get it on! You know…”

Not much difference

The pound-for-pound king addressed concerns that Cotto has an advantage over him in size.

“Hindi naman nagkakalayo ang aming height kaya hindi naman gaanong kalakihan ang kaniyang kalamangan,” he noted.

Pacquiao, however, admitted that he has to suit up for his bigger and stronger opponent.

“Kailangan kong pag-ibayuhin ang bilis at pantayan ang kanyang lakas kahalo ng isang masusing technique upang maungusan ko ang kalaban, ang idolo ng Puerto Rico,” he said.

“Ang style ni Cotto, iyong hindi umaatras sa harapang sagupaan, ay lubhang kapana-panabik para sa lahat.”

Pacquiao is currently in Los Angeles, California. He will go to Las Vegas, Nevada one week before the fight. Cotto, meantime, is already in Las Vegas, PhilBoxing.com reported.
