-- The University of Santo Tomas (UST) Tigresses are just one victory away from completing a sweep of the Shakey’s V-League Season 6 elimination round.

The defending champions posted their 6th win of the season by beating the College of St. Benilde (CSB) Lady Blazers, 25-14, 25-17, 25-17, Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan City, The Philippine Star reported.

The Tigresses, who are the University Games (UniGames) volleyball champions, will seek to remain unbeaten when they play their last elimination round match on Friday against San Sebastian College (SSC).

Although the Lady Blazers lost to UST, they still made it to the quarterfinals because of the outcome of the match between Far Eastern University (FEU) and Lyceum.

FEU defeated Lyceum, 25-22, 25-21, 28-26, on Tuesday. This caused Lyceum’s elimination as it had to win its last two games to get a chance to secure the last quarterfinals spot.

Meanwhile, other matches slated on Friday are Lyceum vs University of the Philippines and Adamson vs Ateneo-OraCare.
