-- Manny Pacquiao attended a thanksgiving mass Sunday morning (Monday in Manila) after he defeated Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto by technical knockout Saturday in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Pacquiao, his family, team members and fans packed a function room of the Mandalay Bay Hotel.

Pacquiao thanked the people for their support and made known his gratitude to God for the strength he had during the fight.

The pound-for-pound king made boxing history by becoming the first fighter to win seven world titles in seven different weight divisions. He dethroned Cotto to claim the WBO welterweight belt. He has a guaranteed purse of at least $13 million or more than P600 million, not including pay-per-view revenues

Pacquiao, however, was not able to sign autographs for his fans after the mass. He proceeded to his doctor to undergo a follow-up checkup on his right ear.

Blood accumulated in his right ear due to the left hooks thrown by Cotto. Doctors already drained out the blood after the fight and assured that the Filipino boxing superstar will be okay.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao was expected to drop by Willie Revillame’s show in Las Vegas as well as visit Z Gorres, the Filipino boxer who underwent an emergency brain surgery Saturday in Las Vegas. Gorres suffered a subdural hematoma (blood clot in the brain) after being knocked down in Round 10. He was able to get up and went on to win his 10-round bout over Colombian Luis Melendez by unanimous decision.

Pacquiao is slated to go to Los Angeles, California Sunday night. On Monday, he is expected to go the Wild Card Boxing Gym in Hollywood to thank everyone who helped in his training camp. He will then flex his vocal chords on Tuesday for his Los Angeles concert.

He is scheduled to leave the US on Wednesday and is expected to arrive in the Philippines early Friday morning.
