-- The Philippine Patriots improved their rank in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) standings after beating the KL Dragons in Malaysia Sunday.
The Patriots defeated the Dragons, 73-63, at the MABA Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, the ABL website reported.
The Philippine squad currently occupies the No. 2 spot in the standings with 4 wins and 1 defeat, behind the Singapore Slingers (5-1).
Jason Dixon and Brandon Powell scored 17 points apiece for the Patriots.
The Dragons, meantime, were bannered by Chris Kuete (13 points), Rudy Lingganay (10 points) and Roel Hugnatan (10 points). The Malaysian team is now 5th in the standings (2-4).
Indonesia’s Satria Muda BritAma is at No. 3 with 3 wins and 3 losses while the Brunei Barracudas are 4th with 2 wins and 4 losses. The Thailand Tigers are at the bottom of the standings with a single win and 4 defeats.
