-- Many agree Arwind Santos' game still needs a little more fine-tuning. That's what makes him scary for the opposition.

“Everything is potential pa lang for him right now pero maganda na ang ipinapakita niya," noted San Miguel Beer coach Siot Tanquingcen of his do-it-all forward who was adjudged as the KFC/Accel-PBA Press Corps' Player of the Week for the period Nov. 8 to 14.

“If he's doing it right now pa lang, then what more if he takes on the other aspects of the game, like knowledge of the game, mga ganoon?" Tanquingcen posed.

The 6-foot-4 Santos propped what Tanquingcen stated by averaging a league-high 23.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists in the Beermen's two victories in the past week to stretch their winning streak to six after a 0-2 start in the Philippine Cup.

Add to all those was the fact the 28-year-old also totaled two blocks and a steal, re-affirming his status as the only player to average at least a swipe and a swat a game.

“He's something special," Tanquingcen stated.

There are other facets of Santos' game that needs polishing, like shot selection and one-on-one defense. Tanquingcen and his staff are hard at work on those, knowing the player will become one irrepressible force should he get the hang of those departments.

“The good thing about it, kaya na niyang gawin," said Tanquingcen.

The man who traces his roots to Pampanga gave a sampling by notching 33 points in a 104-89 demolition job on Barako Bull last Sunday. The output was one better than his previous career-high and he complemented that with more game-highs in rebounds (eight) and assists (six).

The fiery performance came on the heels of a more mortal-like 13 points, six rebounds and five assists in a 92-76 traipse over Purefoods last Wednesday.
